Bicycling in Pass-a-Grille
The Pass-A-Grille Historic Neighborhood District is truly off the beaten path. Visitors venture to the area to get a genuine St. Pete Beach seaside experience. You can get a sense of local history (including information on The Don) at the Gulf Beaches Historical Museum, which is housed on the site of the first church built on the area’s barrier islands on 10th Ave. Walk, or continue your bike ride, on the Pass-A-Grille Historical Trial which covers a little over six miles of historic homes, beaches, former casinos and much more.
If you want to go fishing, go to the fresh fish market, or ride the Shell Key Shuttle, stop by the rustic Merry Pier off Historic 8th Avenue (on the Bay side). You can even get a fishing license right on the spot! While in the neighborhood, visit the outdoor market — right on the water!
Another fun local tip: Historic 8th Avenue is the shortest Main Street in the United States!
Seeing this iconic palace will remind you of your inner child! So, do what any kid would do, order a tasty scoop of icecream on 8th ave Main St. at the Ice Cream store!
