November 11 - April 1: Star Wars and the Power of Costume. Take a unique journey into the Star Wars universe as characters are brought to life through a dramatic presentation of more than 60 original costumes. Star Wars and the Power of the Costume will closely examine the captivating process of costume design for iconic outfits featured in the first seven films of Star Wars series---from Queen Amidala's lavish gowns to Darth Vader's imposing black armor. Tickets go on sale to the public on Oct. 19 and are $25. November 15-19: Bert's St. Pete Beach BikeFest, St Pete Beach. Calling all motorcycle lovers! Over the course of three days, enjoy free nightly beach parties and concerts. Other special events will include the "Baddest Bagger" Competition, "Builder's Row" Showcase with custom bike viewing, Bikini Contest, Daily Poker Run, Nightly Beach Bar Crawl, and more. November 15-19: Sanding Ovation Now in its 9th year, SANDING OVATIONS is Treasure Island’s Master Cup Sand Sculpting Competition and Music Festival, a four day competition of ten sand sculpting masters from throughout North America, Europe and Asia, who create astonishing works of art using nothing but sand, water and lots of their own imagination. November 17-19: Suncoast Jazz Classic. Celebrate the only true American art form on beautiful Clearwater Beach! This 27th annual event features both professional and aspiring jazz musicians in genres ranging from Swing Dance to Traditional Jazz to Pianorama. The seventh year for the Black Friday alternative event brings double the fun with two days of shopping local at more than 100 independent vendors and galleries with specials, food, children's entertainment, a gift wrapping area, beer tent, raffles and special surprises. Shop til you drop from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Straub Park in St. Pete. Part 2 takes place Nov. 25. http://www.shopapaloozafestival.com/ November 18-19: St. Pete Run Fest. This two-day running festival features the St. Pete Half Marathon, Sunshine City 5K, Kids Run and a Health & Fitness Market, which includes live music, local craft beer and food, artisans and entertainers. The St. Pete Half Marathon course begins near The Dali Musueum, heads up Central Avenue, past Tropicana Field and through the Grand Central, Edge and Warehouse Arts districts. The annual "Holiday Lights in the Gardens" is a seasonal escape into a wonderland of twinkling lights and fun entertainment. Over 1 million LED lights shining throughout our Botanical Gardens highlighting our plants and in nature-themed or holiday-themed light displays. This is a family-friendly event with nightly entertainment, including visits with Santa. Refreshments are available, as well as Holiday-themed gifts at the Botanical Bounty Gift Shop.
